About the Community of Practice (CoP)

The Community of Practice (CoP) is a place for advocates and faculty of law, human rights and patient care courses to share resources and materials.  Other stakeholders in the arena of delivery of heatlh care services are invited to participate: doctors, nurses and other health care providers; health managers; NGO activitists; students of law and health courses.  The CoP helps to unite and assist in developing a network of strong practices in protecting and enforcing human rights and responsibilities for all of the stakeholders involved in the delivery of patient care.

The Community of Practice has 3 main sections. "Teaching Law and Health" is a place for faculty of courses on law, human rights and patient care to share materials.  In addition to information and materials that can be accessed by the public in general, there are "private" or "closed" areas for Members of the Community of Practice only.  In those areas, members have space to work together and to comment on documents such as course syllabi or classroom exercises and lesson plans.  "Trainings on Human Rights in Patient Care" is a place for the various groups involved in the Practitoner Guide initiative to share materials on trainings.  Some of the materials are specific to training sessions based upon the Guide.  "Media Tools " has materials on media outreach. This provides information to those involved in the Practitioner Guide project and tools to NGOs to conduct outreach themselves.
